VMware's Vsphere and vCloud are the best of breed software for virtualization and Cloud services available. With a few clicks you can change your Cloud server hardware, clone your existing Cloud servers or deploy more vCloud servers or vApps from scratch.
Our clusters provide full redundancy and HA to keep your Cloud servers up in spite of hardware or network failures. VMware's vCloud user interface gives you all of the tools you need to create, administer, or copy your Cloud servers.
Access to vCloud's RESTful API is also available so that you can integrate our Cloud services into your own portal application or website. You can use the API to create servers, copy servers, or simply reconfigure existing servers. Learn more about the vCloud API.
Monolithic SAN architecture is fast and convenient, but also able to create a potential single point of failure or decrease in performance in the event that components fail. In rare instances that a traditional SAN architecture goes down, all storage to the Cloud infrastructure becomes inaccessible. By using XIO's ISE “storage bricks” we prevent failures and performance degradation by deploying storage in smaller physical units across the datacenter. Should a storage node develop problems, only that node is affected. Thus, only the Cloud servers residing on that storage node also are affected, and they can be restored from backup to other storage in the Cloud.
ISE storage attaches to our VMware clusters via multiple 4G and 8G fiber channel connections and redundant fiber channel switches for speed and high availability. Additionally, the ISE's boast 99.999% uptime and sustain performance over their lifetime. Users report no performance drops for drive failures, RAID rebuilds, data migrations, mirroring, or high levels of capacity utilization.
Our VMware hypervisors are configured for high availability, ensuring your servers continue to run even in the event of hardware failure. We proactively monitor host server health and will hot-migrate Cloud servers if any health issues are detected with the host. In the unlikely event of host failure, your Cloud servers will automatically start on a different host in the cluster.
Most Cloud providers use the host server's internal storage, keeping them from configuring their clusters for high availability. Our host servers are fiber-channel connected to multiple SAN storage blocks to ensure maximum uptime and speed.
At Caronet, our network is built on multiple Tier 1 providers, utilizes multiple routers and switches in highly available configurations. Private VLANs and private networks are available for Cloud customers. Our unique network provides the fastest and most reliable paths for your data. With our new network deployments we can support up to 160Gbps for every 336 servers installed—a feature that easily surpasses that of current industry standards.
Our network begins with diverse fiber entry points, providing redundant 10g feeds from multiple Tier-1 providers. Internally we have implemented a collapsed core/distribution layer design to better facilitate the truly remarkable amounts of bandwidth that we're capable of supporting. Our network is fully redundant and self-healing from top to bottom.
All users have the option of backing up their cloud images. We will back up your cloud images daily and retain 14 days of backups that can be restored upon request. The first backup is a full backup and all subsequent backups are differential and no performance degradation is noticed. Longer retention is available for managed cloud customers.
All Cloud hosts have dual power supplies fed by UPS and generator-backed redundant (A- and B-side) power feeds. In fact, all components of our Cloud host infrastructure feature redundant power from diverse power feeds. Our facilities are fed by multiple dedicated provider transformers from diverse routes and are backed up by multiple UPS systems and generators.
Our power and cooling architectures utilize advanced components and are designed with N+1 and 2N parallel redundancies, supporting high-density needs while providing 99.999% uptime with no interruption in service.
